KATHMANDU: Gandaki Province defeated Karnali Province by four wickets in today’s match of the Prime Minister’s Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament in Dang.
Batting first after losing the toss at the Lamahi Cricket Stadium, Karnali scored only 91 runs in 27.2 overs after losing all their wickets. Chasing the winning target of 92 runs, Gandaki achieved the target of 92 runs in 29.1 overs after losing 6 wickets. Deepak Dumre played a fifty for Gandaki. He scored an unbeaten 50 runs off 78 balls with the help of seven fours. Similarly, Sujan Gautam scored an unbeaten 22 runs.
On the bowling front, Karnali’s Diwan Pun took three wickets. He bowled 10 overs and conceded only 13 runs, including five maidens. Similarly, Dipendra Rawat took two wickets and Younis Thakuri took one wicket.
Earlier, in their 91-run innings, Bipin Shahi scored 20, Arjun Gharti 17, Bipin Rawal 15 and Himanshu Shahi 12 for Karnali.
For Gandaki, Chandra Poudel, Subash Bhandari and Bipin Khatri took two wickets each, while Sandeep Parajuli and Amrit Gurung took one wicket each.
