KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gurkhas secured their third win in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with a dominant 6-wicket victory over Pokhara Avengers in today's match at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Chasing a target of 139 set by Pokhara, Kathmandu successfully reached the total in just 14.1 overs, losing 4 wickets along the way.
Opener Stephen Skinji was the top scorer for Kathmandu, contributing 60 runs. He was supported by Michael Levitt (32), Gerard Erasmus (25), and Bhim Sarki (22).
For Pokhara, Bipin Khatri took 3 wickets, while Michael Lisk claimed 1.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being asked to bat, Pokhara posted a total of 138/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
Ramon Reifer was the highest scorer for Pokhara with 41 runs, followed by Dinesh Kharel (38) and Dilip Nath (27). The remaining batsmen failed to reach double figures.
Rashid Khan and Karan KC were the standout bowlers for Kathmandu, each taking 3 wickets, while Gerard Erasmus and Michael Levitt added 1 each.
With this win, Kathmandu now has 6 points from 6 matches, strengthening their playoff chances. Pokhara, despite the loss, still has a slim mathematical chance of qualifying, with 4 points from 6 matches.
