KATHMANDU: In a match held at the New Laos Stadium on Tuesday, the home team Laos secured a victory over Nepal.

Damoth Thongkhamsa scored in the 13th minute and Peter Phanthavong added another in the 49th minute to lead Laos to victory.

For Nepal, Manish Dangi managed to score from a penalty in the 73rd minute. However, failing to net another goal, Nepal faced defeat.

This marks Nepal’s first-ever loss against Laos. In their previous six encounters, Nepal had won four matches, while two ended in a draw. However, in their seventh meeting, Nepal suffered a defeat.

Nepal, placed in Group ‘F’ of the qualifiers, played this match on Laos’ home ground.
