RCT thrash Shree Kumari 4–1 to retain B Division status

KATHMANDU: Rani Pokhari Corner Team (RCT) ended their Shahid Smarak ‘B’ Division League campaign on a high note with a dominant 4–1 victory over Shree Kumari Club on Thursday.

In the match held at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Bibek Rai and Ajit Gurung both netted a brace to secure RCT’s emphatic win.

Rajkumar Syangtang scored the lone consolation goal for Shree Kumari.

With the final win, RCT finished the season with 18 points from 13 matches, successfully retaining their B Division status.

Despite the defeat, Shree Kumari also managed to avoid relegation, finishing with 16 points.

Among the 14 teams in the league, Planning Boys United emerged as the champions while Shree Bhagwati Club finished as runners-up. Both teams earned promotion to the A Division.

Meanwhile, Shree Tusal Youth Club and Naya Basti Youth Club were relegated to the C Division following poor performances.

The league will formally conclude on Friday.

According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the league champions will receive a cash prize of Rs 1.5 million, the runners-up Rs 1 million, and the third-placed team Rs 500,000.

Additionally, the Best Player and the Fair Play Team will each be awarded Rs 100,000, while the Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper will receive Rs 50,000 each.
