Women’s T20 series: Nepal loses to Thailand by 7 wickets

KATHMANDU: Thailand has won the Women’s T20 series title. Thailand won the title by defeating Nepal by seven wickets in the final match on Friday.

Thailand achieved the target of 82 runs set by Nepal for the loss of 3 wickets in 17 overs. Captain Narumol Chaiwai remained unbeaten and scored the highest score of 27 runs for Thailand. Similarly, Nanpat Koncharonkai scored 23 runs. Captain Indu Verma took 2 wickets for Nepal for giving 16 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Pooja Mahato took 1 wicket.

Batting first after winning the toss, Nepal scored 81 runs for losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Samjhana Khadka scored the highest score of 17 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Kavita Joshi scored 14 runs and captain Indu Verma scored 10 runs.

For Thailand, Onicha Kamchomphu took 3 wickets for giving 15 runs in 4 overs. Chanida Suthirang, Natatha Boochatham and Suliporn Laomi took 1 wicket each.

With this victory, Thailand has won the series. Thailand had won 5 out of 6 matches. They lost one match to the Netherlands.
