POKHARA: Pokhara Metropolitan City is set to celebrate year 2025 as the ‘Pokhara Visit Year’, with the inauguration scheduled for Saturday, February 15.
The initiative aims to attract two million domestic and international tourists throughout the year, with special discounts and offers to enhance the visitor experience.
Mayor Dhanraj Acharya highlighted that the celebrations have already begun in January, with a concerted effort from all three levels of government, the tourism board, and the private sector to create attractive packages for travelers.
Pokhara, which was declared the tourism capital last year, will continue to focus on tourism promotion programs throughout 2025.
Mayor Acharya also mentioned plans to announce goodwill ambassadors to promote Pokhara internationally.
To oversee the campaign’s activities, a 1,051-member organizing committee, along with a 73-member steering committee and a 20-member execution team, has been formed.
Acharya emphasized that the expert group’s reports, which include detailed plans for short-, medium-, and long-term initiatives to enhance Pokhara’s prosperity, have been fully adopted.
The ongoing collaborative effort aims to elevate Pokhara as a premier tourist destination.
