KATHMANDU: The monsoon, which entered Nepal 15 days ahead of schedule, has now expanded into Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and parts of Lumbini Province, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reported.
The monsoon, which had stalled and shifted eastward after entering Nepal on June 1, has now resumed and progressed beyond Koshi Province.
It will still take a few more days for the monsoon to fully cover the remaining provinces. The average date of monsoon onset in Nepal is June 13 — today, Friday — making this year’s early arrival and uneven spread a notable development.
