KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that westerly winds are currently impacting the weather throughout Nepal.

The Division reports that the majority of the country is experiencing clear skies, with some cloud cover in the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces. Additionally, mist and fog are affecting certain areas of the Terai region.

This afternoon, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi Province, while the rest of the country will see conditions ranging from partly cloudy to mostly clear.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with mostly clear skies elsewhere.

Light snowfall is possible in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has advised taking necessary precautions to mitigate the potential impacts of mist and fog in the Terai region in the morning, which could affect daily life, health, and both road and air transport.
