KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the western and central regions of Nepal are currently experiencing the combined effects of westerly, local, and monsoon winds.

According to the latest updates, the weather remains partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other areas of the country are mostly clear to partly cloudy.

This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy skies are expected over the hilly areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces. The rest of the country will likely see mainly clear to partly cloudy weather conditions.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few locations within the hilly areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces during the afternoon.

Similar weather conditions are predicted for tonight, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms likely at a few places in Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at one or two spots in the hilly regions of other provinces.
