According to a new study, walking at least 7,000 steps a day reduced middle-aged people's risk of premature death from all causes by 50 percent to 70 percent, compared to that of other middle-aged people who took fewer daily steps.

Stroke patients who walk 30 minutes per day have lower death risk

A new study has shown that people who walk at least three to four hours per week, or bike at least two to three hours per week, or the equivalent after having a stroke may have a 54 per cent lower risk of death from any cause.
