In Lumbini, the state government has spent 1 trillion, 4 billion rupees in 5 years of its establishment. In the three financial years from the government brought a budget of 1 trillion 47 billion 62 million 29 lakh 55 thousand rupees. Out of which 85 billion 10 million 82 million were allocated for capital and 62 billion for operational budget.
The CPN-UML government led by Shankar Pokharel ran the government for 3 and a half years from the financial year. According to the State Treasury and Accounts Control Office, the average budget expenditure in five financial years is 71 percent. Lakshman Paudel, the data officer of the office informed that the capital expenditure is 71.52 percent and the current expenditure is 70.25 percent.
Government spokesperson Tilak Ram Sharma said that there is no time to start the development works and the development expenditure has decreased due to the election.
