The total number of Bangladesh's mobile phone subscribers topped 168 million at the end of October with an increase of 2.5 million customers in the first 10 months of this year, showed the latest statistics of the country's telecom regulator.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) reported the total number at 168.069 million in October.
Bangladesh has now four mobile companies, three of which are foreign-backed cell phone operators.
The number of subscribers for the mobile operators, Grameenphone, Robi Axiata, Banglalink and the state-run Teletalk stood at 78.121 million, 50.413 million, 34.917 million and 4.618 million, respectively, at the end of October, showed the BTRC data. Xinhua
