Nepal's domestic airlines operators have committed to operating flights ensuring preventive measures against COVID-19.
The Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), issuing a press statement here on Wednesday, reaffirmed its commitment for continuous collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population, COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee and Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
The umbrella organization of airline operators shared that the private airlines were operating domestic flights in the wake of the second wave of COVID-19 ensuring measures to stem the spread of COVID-19.
Private airlines have been implementing eight flights in an hour as per the CAAN’s flight schedule. The statement also said that the airline operators had been operating flights to various destinations in a reasonable fare in the context of road connectivity facing problems due to monsoon-induced disasters lately.
According to the statement, the domestic airport in Kathmandu witnesses over 1,200 passengers travelling to and from various destinations in a day on average.
