The Federation of Export Entrepreneurs has targeted to expand the export size up to USD 7 billion by 2025. The Federation further said it aims to increase the export worth Rs 2 billion in the coming three years.
Holding a virtual meeting today with the representative of diplomatic missions of 40 countries on the promotion of exports, the Federation stressed increasing domestic products and export to make the country prosperous.
The diplomatic missions would provide details on the need for goods to their countries and furnish recommendations to the Federation. It was shared at a news conference on Thursday.
On the occasion, Federation Chairperson and Gandaki Province Assembly member Ram Bahadur Gurung informed that they initiated dialogue with a diplomatic mission in a bid to reduce Nepal's trade deficit. "Federation has aimed at boosting agricultural and industrial productions and their export. Export of energy is another priority," he stressed.
Currently, Nepal is exporting more than 950 goods to more than 120 countries. Development of industrial sector must be government's priority, he stressed.
Carpet, readymade garments, pashmina, felt are some top export items. India is the first largest market of Nepali products followed by the USA.
