There has been a significant increase in the number of electronic payers due to easy access to internet and no hassle of carrying cash.
The increase in turnover is due to the fact that electronic payments can be easily made in every sector from daily necessities. The life of the citizen has become easier due to the payment of QR code which is widely available.
There is an increase in various electronic payment devices as it is possible to make a living even without cash.
According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, the payment of Rs. As of mid-December last year, such payment was Rs. 6 billion 525 million.
Similarly, Rs. 236.42 billion has been transacted through Connect IPS till mid-January, which has become the most accessible means of payment. In the previous month, the turnover was Rs. 247.47 billion.
Similarly, Rs. 16.27 billion has been paid through wallet till mid-December, while Rs. 14.53 billion has been paid till mid-January. Connect IPS for electronic payments, various wallet service providers are active. Nepal Rastra Bank is also encouraging cashless transactions. Facilities including RGTS, IPS, Connect IPS, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and POS are available for electronic payments.
