An agreement on the second phase of the 'Warm Baby Project' has been struck between Jyoti Bikas Bank and National Innovation Centre.
As per the agreement, the Bank will provide financial assistance to install baby warmers developed by the Centre at birthing centres across the country. The assistance will be provided via its social responsibility development promotion fund.
An agreement paper was exchanged between the Bank and the Centre Chairperson Dr Mahabir Pun at an event organised on Saturday at the bank central office on the occasion of the bank's 13th anniversary.
The first phase of the project concluded in the fiscal year, 2076/77 BS. Under the first phase, baby warmers were installed at 10 hospitals — Madhyabindu Hospital, Kapilvastu Community Hospital, Pyuthan Hospital, Mahakali Hospital, Ramgopalpur Health Centre, Amda Hospital, Khotang District Hospital, Samari Health Centre, Beni Hospital and Burtibang Hospital.
The Bank plans to install baby warmers at 800 birthing centres by 2023, said the bank administration.
