Minister for Industry, Labor and Employment of Province No. 1 Pratap Prakash Hangam has said that emphasis should be laid on the establishment of industries based on local products.
Speaking at a press meet organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Taplejung this morning, he said that emphasis should be laid on setting up industries by increasing local production. "Utilizing locally available raw materials will not only increase the income of the common man but also create employment opportunities," he said.
Minister Hangam said that domestic and small scale industries would be brought in the process of registration and renewal. He said that attention will be paid to the commercial production and processing of cardamom, tea, ginger, herbal products, bamboo etc. produced here.
He also said that they would explore the possibility of marketing the locally produced home-made liquor by branding it.
