Electricity from Marsyangdi and Madhya Marsyangdi hydropower projects is also being sold in India. At the same time, up to Rs 75 million worth of electricity is being exported from Nepal to India daily.
According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, electricity generated from Marsyangdi from Tuesday and Madhya Marsyangdi from Thursday has entered the Indian energy exchange market.
On Thursday alone, 284 MW of electricity will be exported to India. 23 from Trishuli, 14.39 MW from Devighat, 138.91 MW from Kaligandaki, 66.14 MW from Marsyangdi and 41.81 MW from Madhya Marsyangdi will go to India.
According to NEA, Nepal's electricity has fetched a maximum price of Rs 12 per unit, or Rs 19.2 per unit, in India's competitive energy market. According to NEA, the average export is RS 11.02 per unit.
Accordingly, it is seen that Nepal can sell more than 100 million electricity daily in the rainy season.
