The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has asked for a budget of Rs. 38.49 billion for the coming fiscal year. This is 6.47 percent more than the budget allocated for the current fiscal year.
The budget for the coming fiscal year is prepared on the basis of the budget ceiling sent to the Ministries by the National Planning Commission. In the current fiscal year, a budget of Rs. 36.15 billion has been allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Ministry spokesperson Prakash Kumar Sanjel informed that the budget will be spent on 33 titles submitted by the ministry in the current fiscal year.
According to the ministry, no new program has been included in the budget for the coming fiscal year. Spokesperson Sanjel said that the plan is to make the existing programs more rewarding than having new programs.
