Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has welcomed the amendments made to the Nepal-India Rail Service agreement. Rajendra Malla, President of NCC, mentioned in a statement issued on Sunday, that the amendments that have been made to the agreement will be a milestone in the trade and transportation services between the two countries.
Malla stated that the newly amended agreement will help boost the foreign trade of the country as all rail service providers will be allowed to transport goods to and from Nepal and Indian sea ports. He added that it will also help reduce the cost of transportation for Nepali businesses.
The NCC president further mentioned that once transportation costs decline then goods manufactured in Nepal will be able to compete in the international markets because the overall cost of the goods will also decrease.
