Nepal Stock Exchange (NSE) is set to open on Friday after the government decided to give two days weekend on Saturday and Sunday from May 15.
However, no formal decision has been made. NEPSE spokesperson Murahari Parajuli said that the market would be closed on Saturday and Sunday as per the government's decision.
The issue of extending the share trading time has also been discussed in NEPSE. At present, the share market is open from 11 am to 3 pm.
Despite suggestions from some investors that the time period should be extended, it will not be implemented immediately. Spokesperson Parajuli said that the regulations should be amended for this. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NEPSE will decide whether to open the business or not on Friday.
