Chief of the Nepalgunj Industrial Area Management Office Krishna Bahadur Pun said that the office could not provide land for the establishment of new industries due to lack of vacant land.
According to him, there are 35 industries in operation in the Nepalgunj Industrial Area at present. All the industries in the Nepalgunj Industrial Area on 233 ropanis of land are running smoothly. "There is demand from industrialists in the industrial sector for setting up industries but we do not have land," said Pun, head of the office.
The industrial area in the middle of the Nepalgunj market is suitable from the point of view of security and convenience, which attracts the industrialists who want to run new industries.
Industries such as pipe manufacturing, plastic industry, plywood industry, metal industry and water industry are operating in the Nepalgunj Industrial Area. The bronze plates produced by the Binod Metal Industry and the Vijay Metal Industry here are also exported to other countries, said Pun.
Many industries have been set up by purchasing land in Ganapur, located in Ward No. 6 of the Janaki Village Municipality, which is connected to Nepalgunj. Secretary General of the Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chiranjeevi Oli informed that about 80 industries are operating there. Work on the Nauwastha Industrial Area project has not started even after one year of laying the foundations.
He said that there is a shortage of land for the establishment of industries in Nauwastha until the state level industrial zone is established. Work on the industrial zone has not started even 13 months after the foundations were laid.
