Nepal Rastra Bank has launched a financial consumer protection portal, http://gunaso.nrb.org.np, to provide better services to people availing financial services from banks and financial institutions and other agencies that have been licensed by the central bank.
Issuing a press statement today, Nepal Rastra Bank has mentioned that the portal has been launched to make sure that the financial services being delivered by banks and financial institutions (BFIs) are done in a trustworthy, unbiased and transparent manner. It also stated that the portal will help ascertain that all BFIs are providing services to their clients as per the prevailing rules and regulations that have been set by the central bank.
To lodge a complaint the service seeker must first log in to the concerned website and register their complaint. On doing so, the service seeker will receive notification of the complaint being lodged and a registration number of the complaint through email. The concerned person can learn about the status of his/her complaint through the complaint registration number. The service seeker will be notified regarding the final decision of the complaint through email.
