Police in Kathmandu district arrested seven gamblers from Boudha in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 who were allegedly involved in gambling offences on Tuesday afternoon. They were nabbed from a restaurant owned by Hira Tamang. One of the arrested has been identified as Hira Tamang (52), a resident of Boudha in KMC-6 while the names of the other six have not been disclosed.
Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Boudha-based Metropolitan Police Office arrested them and seized Rs 184,345 and three decks of cards from their possession.
Meanwhile, police on Tuesday evening nabbed seven people from Kalanki-based from Room Number 406 of Adventure Hotel and Lodge in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14. One of the arrested has been identified as Krishna Adhikari (32), operator of the same hotel and a resident of Khaireni in Chitwan district while the names of the other six have not been disclosed.
Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Kalimati-based Metropolitan Police Circle arrested them and recovered Rs 68,390 and five decks of cards from their possession.
Further investigation into both the cases is underway, informed the police.
