The Akshara Children's Literature Festival was organized today with the objective of developing reading culture in students and parents. Various literary works were presented at the festival organized by Akshara Vidyalaya, located at Kageshwori Manohara, Kathmandu.
Former Prime Minister and politician Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, writer Amar Neupane and other writers were present at the festival. In the program, students, parents and teachers expressed their interest in education and literature to the author. The participants and the participants discussed about the importance of literature in life and its interest in it as well as how the citizens can express themselves about literature.
Creative and creative programs including literary dialogue, literary workshops, musical performances, puppet shows, book exhibitions were organized with the author during the festival which was observed by about four thousand spectators.
Workshops on teaching 13 different languages and literature were organized in three sessions under the festival. About 700 students from 24 schools participated in the program.
Anju Bhattarai, the principal of Akshara, said that she was very happy to have the students and parents of other schools participate in the program. "We used to hold literary programs almost every week, but this is the first time we have held a literary festival like this," said Bhattarai.
He said that the book based on the curriculum would teach the skills required by the profession and the art of living through literature. Chief of Kageshwori Manohara Municipality Krishna Hari Thapa said that such festivals would connect not only schools but also students and parents.
