The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu has issued a notice regarding vehicular movement during the prohibitory order which started on April 29 and is effective for 15 days.
As per the notice, vehicles involved in the delivery of essential goods and services do not require a vehicle pass during the prohibitory order. Similarly, people who are sick and those caring for the sick people in hospitals also do not require a vehicle pass.
The notice issued by the DAO, Kathmandu, also mentions that staff of government organisations, banks, and financial institutions, insurance firms, and institutions licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank also do not need a vehicle pass. The DAO has also said that passengers going to and coming from the airport also does not require a vehicle pass.
According to the notice, if people who fall under the abovementioned categories face difficulties in movement they can call Nepal Police at 100 or 103 for assistance.
The District Administration Office has further mentioned that it will stop issuing vehicle passes for any other purpose except for funeral rites and very important purposes from today. However, the DAO has not clearly specified what important purposes mean.
