Kathmandu's waste management is scheduled to be discussed with locals on Friday. According to the Ministry of Urban Development, the locals will also participate in the discussion along with the representatives of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Dhunibesi Municipality of Dhading and Kakani Village Municipality of Nuwakot.
An all-party discussion is going to be held with the locals, people's representatives and representatives of the security agencies of Urban Development Minister Ram Kumari Jhankri's press coordinator Bishnu Raigain. Minister Jhankri along with the secretary of the ministry and the head of the division will also be present at the meeting.
Earlier on Monday, an agreement was reached between the Ministry of Urban Development, local level people's representatives of the valley, and representatives of Dhunibeshi municipality of Dhading and Kakani village of Nuwakot in Bancharedanda. However, the locals were not satisfied with the agreement and blocked the truck carrying garbage.
Police had arrested some locals of the Bancharedanda area on Wednesday on the charge of obstructing a vehicle carrying garbage. Those arrested have been released on Thursday.
