The death of five members of the same family in Nallu, Konjyosom Gaonpalika-4 of Lalitpur has been reported to carbon poisoning.
According to SP Siddhi Bikram Shah of the Metropolitan Police, Lalitpur, a forensic expert from Patan Hospital gave preliminary information that the death was due to carbon poisoning.
According to a hospital doctor, suffocation is called carbon poisoning in medical parlance. "The window of the newly built house was closed," he said.
However, he said that the official cause of the death of five people would be revealed only in the post-mortem report. According to SP Shah Syangtan's family had slept in Nallu last night after eating food and left the burning coal.
As reported by the police, Rijal, 55-year-old Kainli Syangtan, 9-year-old Ashish, 23-year-old Sushma and 7-year-old Asma were found dead at the spot. A two-day-old baby was also found dead.
According to SP Shah, 22-year-old Shubh Tamang is undergoing treatment at the hospital but his condition is critical.
