Police arrested a man in possession of nine kilograms of bodhi beads in Sanepa, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-2 of Lalitpur district, on Wednesday.
The arrested has been identified as Roj Bahadur Tamang (29) of Temal Rural Municipality-9 in Kavrepalanchok district. Tamang had currently been residing in Swoyambhu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
A team of police personnel deployed from the Sanepa-based Metropolitan Police Sector (MPS) arrested Tamang after confiscating the bodhi beads from his possession. Tamang was transporting a large number of bodhi beads on a taxi vehicle (Ba 2 Ja 3609) from Lalitpur to Kathmandu. He was nabbed during a routine vehicle check conducted by the police on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, the arrestee and the confiscated bodhi beads have been handed over to the Division Forest Office based in Godavari, Lalitpur for necessary action, informed police.
