Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has handed over financial assistance to the families of the fire victims. Reaching the Kriyaputri Bhawan in Pashupatinath today, Minister Bhusal on behalf of the Government of Nepal provided Rs 7,45,000.
Niroj's 71-year-old father Laxmikrishna Tamrakar, 40-year-old sister Anjana Tamrakar, 34-year-old wife Ranjana Tamrakar and 11-year-old son Nirjal Tamrakar were killed on the spot when a gas cylinder exploded on the third floor of a house at Chakra Bahil in Patan of Lalitpur on Friday evening. His legs and back were broken. The third and fourth floors of the house were completely damaged. On the occasion, Minister Bhusal said that she would recommend to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation to provide scholarships to the children of the deceased families. Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Ghanshyam Upadhyaya and other security chiefs were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Armed Forces of Dakshinkali Gana Satdobato handed over 30,500 bags of rice including six bags, three bags of kammal, two sleeping bags and five blankets. A committee has been formed at the local level to compensate the victims. The committee has been publicly appealing to the reluctant individuals and organizations for such assistance. Similarly, the Copper Society has set up a relief fund of one lakh.
