Newly appointed Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Nain Kala Thapa, has assumed office today.
As soon as the oath of office and secrecy was administered to the newly appointed ministers by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Minister Thapa went to her assigned ministry in Singhadurbar to assume office.
Previously, Thapa had also served as the chairperson of National Women’s Commission. Though she had not been politically active in recent times she was appointed a minister as per the quota of two ministers from the previous members of CPN (Maoist Centre) who have come forward in support of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Thapa is married to CPN UML member and former home minister Ram Bahadur Thapa (Badal).
