The construction of the Nagdhunga tunnel project has been completed by 23 percent. Two years after the start of construction, 1,812 meters of the tunnel have been dug in the Nagdhunga tunnel project along with the construction of various other structures.
The construction of the tunnel that was started to be completed within 42 months had seen a slow pace from the past 1.5 months.
The construction work had seen a slow pace due to major festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath said Project Chief Nareshman Shakya.
The death of the worker at the construction site affected the work for one week. As the festivals ended the workers have agreed to continue the construction to expedite it, informed Shakya.
The construction work has been pushed by one month behind as per the previous action plan. The construction work got disrupted due to the ongoing pandemic earlier this year. The construction company has committed to finish the work within the deadline, added Shakya.
At the present, the company has forwarded major works such as flyover, underpass, road access, drinking water, and other structures. Although there were some problems acquiring the land earlier in the past years, the problem is in the final phase solution, Shakya further explained.
