Educational institutions in the Kathmandu district can resume their teaching-learning activities physically from September 17. Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu District, Kali Prasad Rijal, informed that a decision has been taken that schools could be reopened by fully adopting health and safety protocols viewing the situation of COVID-19 infection. However, the authority has been given to local levels whether to open the schools or not by analyzing the situation of COVID-19 infection, shared CDO Rijal. In a meeting held among representatives looking after the education of local levels of Kathmandu and the CDO, Rijal, took the decision in this regard. “Schools in wards with no reported cases can run physical classes from September 17 by adopting health safety. All the responsibilities have been given to local levels.” Other districts have said that they would take a decision only after holding a discussion.
