Promotional material being removed in Bhaktapur

In Madhyapurthimi Municipality, work has been started to remove campaign materials against the election code of conduct. The office of the city election officer has stated that they have started removing the campaign materials while monitoring the city area.

Election Officer Maiya Kandel informed that the concerned parties have been asked to remove such material as the major parties have been keeping propaganda material against the code of conduct. According to him, security personnel is working to remove party flags, election symbols, flags, and flags in vehicles and batches in different areas of the city.

"We have been conducting daily monitoring. We have found propaganda materials against the election code of conduct in the bazaars and inner streets. In such cases, we have immediately informed the party leaders and removed them," said Kandel.

Meanwhile, the office said that the preparations for the election have reached the final stage and all the details of the candidates have been prepared. In addition, some of the polling stations in the Madhyapurthimi municipality are located in very narrow places and some are on the road.

"Some polling stations need to be relocated in the local elections," Kandel said. He informed that arrangements have been made for the general electorate to cast their votes in a safe, peaceful, and easy manner.

Keshav Silwal, Assistant Election Officer of the city informed that the election was held in a fearless and peaceful atmosphere. He said that the major parties were involved in the violation of the code of conduct, adding that strict instructions were given to remove such materials during verbal complaints and monitoring, even if no written complaint was received. He said that the parties have been replying that they will remove the propaganda materials kept at the doorsteps.

In Madhyapurthimi, there are 20 thousand 531 males, 21 thousand 308 females, third gender, and a total of 41 thousand 842 voters. There are 17 polling stations and 46 polling booths in the city.
