Public transport fares have increased in Bagmati province since Monday. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has increased fares on routes within the state by an average of 23 percent.
In the case of Kathmandu Valley, the minimum fare has been fixed at Rs 18. According to the ministry, the fare for 5 km within the Valley has been fixed at Rs 18. Similarly, for 10 kilometers the fare is 23 rupees, for 15 kilometers 27 rupees, for 20 kilometers 30 rupees and for more than 20 kilometers 25 rupees. The state government has also fixed the fare of the main route from the Valley to 13 districts under the state.
