Citing that the rate of coronavirus infections in the valley had not declined as expected the chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur had decided to extend the prohibitory order in Kathmandu valley by one more week on May 25.

The current prohibitory order was to end at midnight today.

New provisions have been included in the prohibitory order which comes into effect from 1 am on May 28. As per the rules, only shops selling vegetables, fruits, dairy products, meat, drinking water and cooking gas will be allowed to open till 9 am. The order states that grocery shops and department stores will also not be allowed to open during the duration of the prohibitory order.
