Right to information is an appropriate tool to awaken people's trust in democracy: President
President Ramchandra Paudel has said that the right to information is a suitable tool to awaken people's trust in democracy.
"The right to information is the right tool to make the governance system transparent and accountable in a democracy, to end corruption, to maintain good governance, to increase service delivery to the public by making use of investments and to awaken people's trust in democracy that only in this system the future will be secure", said President Paudel. He expressed this opinion while addressing a program held on Saturday at Rashtrapati Bhawan Sheetal Niwas on the occasion of the 17th Foundation Day of the National Information Commission.
"The meaningful participation of the Nepali people in development is very necessary for the strengthening of democracy, for this transparency is the main issue, which will be guaranteed by the right to information", He said. He emphasized that the implementation of the right to information, which is an important means for the meaningful participation of the people in the institutional development of democracy, promotion of good governance and development, should be made more effective.
