Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane's appeal against the order to send him to prison is being heard on today.
The district court in Kathmandu had ordered to keep him in custody pending trial. Sandeep has filed an appeal in the Patan High Court demanding the cancellation of the said order. The appeal will be heard today, January 5, Thursday.
The trial has been scheduled in the bench of Patan High Court judges Rajyalakshmi Bajracharya and Narishwar Bhandari.
Sandeep's case is number four on that bench.
Earlier, the hearing was not held even though it was fixed twice. In the first case, Sandeep's lawyers postponed the hearing, while they were not sent to see it in the second case. However, on Thursday, his rate has fallen to number four.
Sandeep was arrested after a girl filed a rape complaint. According to the order of District Court Kathmandu, he was jailed.
