Traffic management equipment has been handed over to the Metropolitan Traffic Police today. At a ceremony organized by the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority here today, Urban Development Minister Ram Kumari Jhankri handed over 20 wheel locks and 88 magic lights to Senior Superintendent of Police Umesh Raj Joshi.
Minister for Urban Development Jhankri said that traffic management equipment has been provided in the first phase to help manage the increasing traffic congestion and discourage and control unauthorized parking on the sidewalks. He said that the Government of Nepal was committed to equipping the traffic police with technology and resources and hoped that the equipment would be used properly.
Chief of the Division, SSP Joshi, thanked the Traffic Police for the initiative and initiative taken by the Ministry and NEA in procuring the required traffic furniture and other equipment. He expressed his commitment to making traffic management more efficient and effective by making maximum use of the devices that have been handed over.
