Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police have arrested two youths in possession of two pieces of skins of protected wildlife in Bouddha, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 on Friday.
The arrested have been identified as Sabin Tamang (28) of Gothatar in KMC-6, and Hit Bahadur Magar (26) of Likhu Rural Municipality-5 in Ramechhap district, currently residing in Purano Thimi in Bhaktapur district.
They were allegedly trying to sell the skin of protected wildlife. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Maharajhunj-based CIB arrested them from Pipalbot in Bouddha. The security personnel seized skin, scale and carcass of protected wildlife from their possession.
Meanwhile, the arrested duo have been handed over to the Hattisar-based Division Forest Office. They will be tried under the National Park and Wildlife Act (1973), informed the CIB.
