Ujra Jaya, Deputy Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy and Human Rights and US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues arrived in Nepal today for a three-day visit.
At the Tribhuvan International Airport, Deputy Foreign Minister Jaya was welcomed by officials from the State Department and the US Embassy. She is scheduled to hold special talks on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Jaya is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi. Deputy Minister Jaya's visit was announced at a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
Anjali Kaur, USAID's Deputy Assistant Administrator for Asia, is also part of the Jaya-led delegation. The ministry has clarified that the exchange of visits is taking place in the context of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
