The chief district officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur will be holding a meeting today. The meeting that has been scheduled for 2 pm is likely to take a decision regarding the prohibitory order in Kathmandu valley.

It has been reported that the prohibitory order will likely be extended by a week but will be eased to some extent. The District Administration Offices of the valley are planning to allow transportation of educational books and also permit bookshops to open. Since the new academic calendar is about to begin but students have not been able to avail textbooks, bookshops will be allowed to open.

Similarly, the order will be eased in the agriculture and development sectors albeit by adopting necessary health safety measures. However, there will be timings determined for the sectors. The mechanism for transportation and management of workers will be determined today.

The CDOs of the valley have been holding consultations with concerned authorities since the past few days regarding the prohibitory order. Though the number of infections has dropped there still is a danger of the coronavirus spreading so the prohibitory order will not be completely lifted.
