Recently at the National Theater in Kathmandu a live concert of traditional Dafa and Eastern melodies of Kathmandu Valley was held. The program was organized by the Jayshree Music Society.
Dafa is a group of hymns performed by the Newari community in the Kathmandu Valley. Various glimpses of Rakta Ganesha dance and Newari culture were presented in the program.
In the program, maestro Sureshraj Bajracharya performed sarod and Vijay Shrestha on sitar. Lakshmi Prasad Dangol and Nimesh Kapali accompanied on tabla. Sunita Dangol, deputy head of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, was the chief guest of the program.
