Dohori is a type of Nepali folk song. While performing it there are usually two teams and they take turns to sing.
And lately, it is gaining a lot of popularity in Nepal. While it is considered a popular program performed on the stage, it is also given priority in various media as well as social media lately.
Dohori is also performed lived in many restaurants where numbers of people come to watch the artists perform in various major cities including Kathmandu.
Dohori while performing live goes on for hours and the singers come up with lyrics instantly. While in conversation with NepalNews, Singer Regina Pariyar who has been performing dohori for some time now talks about her journey.
Born in the western district of Gorkha, Nepal, Pariyar was influenced by folk songs sung at home from an early age. As a result, she has been active in the music industry for the past 17 years.
So far, she has sung more than 100 songs. She also has solo albums. She is also going to release her new single this Teej.
Talking with experience Pariyar says that dohori singers get a lot of chances to perform in fairs and festivals held in different districts and that they get paid well as well.
Till now Pariyar has earned a lot of awards for her hard work and wants to keep winning the hearts of her fans.
