The “Nepali Cinema Fest” organized by the Film Development Board has started in Dubai with the screening of 'Kabaddi 4'.
According to UAE time, the film was screened at Star Cinemas of the famous Rajshri Productions on Sunday night. Nepali exhibitors, producers, artists, media persons, and non-resident Nepalis participated in the opening ceremony.
Film Development Board Chairman Bhuwan KC, actors Anmol KC, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Shiv Shrestha, director Bhushan Dahal, Ram Babu Gurung, and Dubai-based businessmen and NRNA representatives were present at the multiplex.
Board Chairman KC said that the door to internationalize Nepali films is open from Dubai. It is seen that Dubai can become the second-largest market for Nepali films. "The real audience of Nepali films is in the Middle East," said President KC.
Chairman KC also asked the UAE-based filmmakers to come to Nepal for filming. Thakur Prasad Dhungana, UAE President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, said that NRNA will assist in making Nepali films accessible to the UAE audience.
Before the start of the festival, the board also organized a press conference in Dubai. The festival organized under the management of Surya Corporation will last for four days.
On the second day of the festival, on Monday, programs such as the red carpet ceremony and award announcement have been scheduled.
