President Ramchandra Paudel performed cow worship today on the third day of Tihar.
Cow is worshiped as a symbol of Goddess Lakshmi on Monday, on the day of Kartik Krishna Aunsi, Gaitihar. President Paudel ritually worshiped the cow in Sheetal Niwas and gave food to eat. On the day of Shravan Shukla Purnima, it is customary to tie the Rakshasutra (doro) on the hand to the cow's tail on the day of Gaitihar.
There is a popular belief that by doing this, it will be easy to 'Vaitarani' after death.
On the fourth day of Tihar, there is a tradition of worshiping Govardhan mountain or Gorupuja.
