‘Queens Eatery’, located in Sanepa, may look like an average neighbourhood but it offers much more.
Serving burgers since 2019, the small burger joint has gained a lot of fans in such a short time.
But Shreyash Lal Shrestha and Sashant Pradhan, the owners of the burger hub, are always up for experimenting with the menu time and again.
Pradhan says, “Everything is freshly made from the buns to the patties at Queens. And each Friday we serve our in-house very special ‘BBQ Pulled Pork Burger’ which is slow-cooked for like 8-9 hours which not only makes the meat tender but fills it up with flavors and as you bite in, it almost feels as soft as cotton.”
“We also have Big nasty burger, one of our specials with the triple buff patty, layered up with bacon, double American cheese, caramelized onion, and a generous amount of garlic mayo spread on buns”, Pradhan adds.
The cozy burger hub is a good place to hang out with friends and enjoy different burgers.
Despite being right next to the roadside, it is a cozy place to be at.
They offer an outdoor sitting area where you can just sip your coffee and watch vehicles pass by, or you can enjoy a lounge inside where you can just chill and feel at home.
They also have a dining area where you can just sit with your laptop and work.
Explaining the reasons why Queens Eatery began, Pradhan says, “I always wanted to open a cafe and I am lucky enough to run my passion at my own home. We are not exactly a burger joint, but an eatery that sells good burger”
“It is not that I should not pay the rent, trust me I have to. Professionalism is of course there”, he adds.
Queens eatery offers a large variety of burgers, however, they also serve some drinks and dessert on the side.
I ordered their Queens burger and Thai Satay chicken burger with onion rings.
Queens burger- double buff patty, layered with bacon jalapenos cream cheese, American cheese, and a generous amount of garlic mayo spread on buns with three house sauces on the side.
The first bite of the Queens burger I could taste each of the flavors bursting in my mouth and each of the ingredients complimented each other.
While the double patty may sound a bit too much but with the cheese, it complimented the patties and the fried buff adds crispiness.
The homemade buns were not dry and the burger did not fall apart.
Onion rings, on the other hand, were perfectly fried and the sauces added beauty to them.
Then came their in-house special burger, Thai Satay Chicken.
The patty in the burger is made with chicken meat with peanut satay sauce.
Chef then goes to layer it with Thai salad, lettuce, green onion, and garlic mayo spread on the bun.
Taking a bite on the burger, I could taste the peanut satay sauce that really added the beauty of the juicy patty.
And as big as the burgers may sound, it is easy to bite into the burger and get the taste of each and every ingredient on the first bite.
But as we all know a burger is incomplete without the fries, I felt the need to order their ‘House fries’ which is served with fresh garlic, coriander, green onion and pepper (timur).
The pepper added kick to the dish and to cool it down, I ordered their Vanilla shake which was just perfect for the hot, sunny day.
With the intention to bring in a good burger hub in town, Pradhan and Shrestha opened the place.
“We named our place Queens because we felt it is a very empowering name,” says Pradhan.
