Sampura celebration starts in Bhaktapur. It is a festival of religious and cultural significance and the festival officially begins on the evening of Janapurnima. On the eve of the festival, on the evening of Janaipurnima, the Guthi Sansthan worships Natyeshwari at Sukuldhoka and performs the Ghintanghisi dance.
The Bhaktapur Municipality and stakeholders have stated that the festival will be limited to formalities this year due to the risk of corona infection. Due to this, Gaijatra Ghintanghisi dance town was not held on Sunday evening as well, according to Guthi Sansthan Bhaktapur.
