At least 11 inmates have been killed in a prison attack in Nigeria. Many others have been injured in the attack as well. It is said that 252 prisoners escaped from the attack. Authorities say unidentified gunmen stormed a jail in the town of Jose on Sunday night.
According to Nigerian prison officials, it was not immediately clear who carried out the attack. In the past, the prisons here were attacked like this several times.
Prison officials said they were still searching for the attackers. The police have also begun searching for the escaped prisoners.
