At least 15 people were killed on Saturday after a landslide hit a gold mine in Guinea's northeast Siguiri region, local media reported.
Citing a Red Cross official on-site, the reports said it could not be ruled out that others had been buried at the mine entrance.
It remained unclear whether the victims had been crushed by falling rocks or buried inside the gold mine.
